I was first introduced to Homeopathy in 1985 when a friend suggested I see a homeopath to help me with a terrible case of hives I was suffering over a 9-month period. The best that doctors could prescribe for treating them was Benadryl, an antihistamine that made me very sleepy. That sleepiness was working against my efforts to rise early and be alert for my morning yogic practices at the time.
I was amazed that the hives disappeared after one visit to the homeopath. No having to be admitted to the ER, or having my urine monitored for proteins in overnight stays at the hospital, and no sleep-inducing antihistamines that merely suppressed the welts, which I could still feel under my skin, and which would drive me crazy.
A couple of days later, I broke out in hives again, so I contacted my homeopath. She asked if I was perchance sick with something else. Turns out, I had contracted a flu, and that acute illness had displaced the influence of the remedy I was taking. The homeopath treated me for the flu and assured me that once it had resolved, she could treat me for the hives again. Things resolved as she had suggested they would, and once again I became hive free. This experience was miraculous to me, as I had suffered hives, intermittently since puberty, for 10 years. After being treated by the homeopath, I didn’t experience hives again until years later, at which time they responded again to Homeopathy.

Claudia hails from the Great Lake State of Michigan. She is a Detroiter at heart, and it's where she developed her profound appreciation for trees, water, cars, and Motown Music. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Natural Resources.
Following her graduation, she resided in Ann Arbor, among the bakers, farmers and coop community, with her fellow liberal-minded hippy friends. She pursued the arts, while working for an academic publishing firm. This was at a time when "Cut & Paste," were actual physical acts using actual knives, layout boards, the photographic developing of galleys, and wax.
She is grateful to have been a citizen of Ann Arbor throughout her twenties, and to have been shaped by it. Boulder, Colorado had a similar vibe when she moved there in 1989. In Colorado, she and a dedicated team pioneered the first ready-to-drink chai product, fondly remembered as LiveChai. She founded and served as CEO of LiveChai, Inc.
After 9 years of running that business, and unable to finance the next leap in its trajectory, life brought her a huge unexpected gift when she was invited to the home birth of her first goddaughter, Mahayla.
She got to experience the joy of coparenting her beautiful and spunky baby goddaughters, Mahayla and sister Kamala, who joined the family four years later, also by way of a home birth. They continue to be important influences and gifts as young women in Claudia's life, where they add complexity, depth, and joy.
Claudia went on to earn her Certificate of Homeopathy from Homeopathy School International, and she treated her goddaughters, friends, and patients using her newly acquired homeopathic knowledge. Childhood fevers, flu, and infections all responded well to homeopathic remedies.
Claudia has most recently continued her studies with the Dynamis School for Advanced Homoeopathic Studies.
Since 1985, she has trained extensively in the sublime practices of Yoga, Buddhism, & Meditation, and brings the gifts and insights of those disciplines to bear in the treatment of her patients. She is, most recently, a novice Tai Chi practitioner.
From then on, Homeopathy became my health care treatment of choice and I later began to pursue it as a profession. I went on to train at what was then called the Homeopathy School of Colorado, or HSC. HSC later evolved into what is now called Homeopathy School International, or HSI (see Resources). The very gifted and committed teachers at HSI, who are professional homeopaths themselves, continue to teach the classical Hahnemannean approach to Homeopathic philosophy and treatment that I received as a student there. I am forever grateful and indebted to their care, instruction, and commitment to this honorable and gentle yet powerful path for serving the health needs of our patients.
I've continued my on-going quest for mastery of the art and science of Homeopathy by studying with such luminaries in the field as Barbara Seideneck, Dr. Jody Shevins, Kim Elia, Anne Schadde, Dr. Sankaran, the team of homeopaths from The Other Song, Dr. Murphy, and most recently, Camilla and Jeremy Sherr at the Dynamis School for Advanced Homoeopathic Studies.
Furthermore, through taking the remedies myself, treating my children, family, friends, clients, and pets, I continue to gain an ever-deepening understanding and respect for the gift of this medical art left to us by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a man well before his time, over 200 years ago.
